The movie is all about loyalty, hope, trust, honesty, friendships, love and family.
In the end, the whole town volubteers to pay. A big production, starring the best actors of the time, designed to shape the minds of the viewers. This movie uses all that good stuff to sell you on an idea of collectivism in a time when America was facing harsh financial issues.
