#Calvinism gets a lot of bad press.

When I finally read Calvin's _Institutes of the Christian Religion_ for myself, I was pleasantly surprised at how accessible, warm, and pastoral--even devotional--it was.

Have you heard bad things about Calvin or #Calvinism?

Have you not heard bad things about Calvin or Calvinism? (and I haven't read all of The Institutes yet)

I have. Much of it was mischaracterization.

I have Pentecostal extended family on my wife's side. If there's anything they think they know about Calvin/Calvinism, it's not a positive attribution. I think mostly they lack knowledge about it though. Pentecostals know even very little about their own tradition.

Side-note: instant cure for Pentecostalism is studying church history

Not an easy pill to swallow, but Truth is Truth (Romans 9). Certainly wouldn't lead with this.

I'd lead with Matthew 11:28-31, while holding Matthew 11:25-27 in my mind. Safe bet, preaching like Jesus.
