Thank you for supporting what we tried to build with Mutiny. The Lightning Network, especially self-custodial lightning on mobile, is a complex system. Unfortunately, it carried risks, many of which were out of our control.

We saw that the risks didn't outweigh the benefits to Mutiny Wallet users without an overhaul. Thus, we announced a multi-month plan to wind down the wallet, giving users time to move funds out. Mutiny and the community assisted many users during that time to move any remaining funds. It is still possible to use the emergency kit to recover funds for the next little while. The app remains published open source for anyone to self-host and improve.

Underlying the Mutiny Wallet was a strong layer of privacy, security, and encryption. Those elements were solid at the time, and they have massive benefits for both the Bitcoin app ecosystem and the broader web/mobile app space. Our goal is to empower hundreds of new "Mutiny"-type apps that innovate in the Lightning and Ecash space, pushing forward the mission of self-custodial, peer-to-peer digital cash.

Maple AI is the first app built on OpenSecret, enabling private key encryption for sensitive AI chats. It's even more secure than Mutiny Wallet because it uses confidential computing that can be cryptographically verified. OpenSecret brings this kind of privacy to any app that wants it.

Where one Mutiny Wallet fell, may 50 sprout in its place.

We hope you'll give us another shot.

What is the deadline for recovering funds and where are the instructions? Opening the app gives an error: "Error: failed to call on the given LNURL". There's a mention of "Safe Mode" for on-chain, but tapping the apparent link doesn't do anything.

Users had Aug-Dec 31, 2024 to withdraw. You can download your emergency kit file and try out these recovery steps: https://github.com/MutinyWallet/mutiny-web/wiki/Recovery

Looks like you click "Safe Mode" then "Reload" to get the app working without channels.
