I’m at a conference near a major university so I asked some students eating near me about AI.

My takeaway: they’re absolutely screwed.

One even admitted that investing in her degree (Advertising) was “a bit of a gamble, but figured a human would always be involved because you can’t really replace human creativity”.

She graduates in 2028.

Homeschooling being illegal in my country is making us move for precisely this reason.

There is no way in hell that education changes fast enough before it is disrupted. Unfortunately most will find out too late.

Especially because everyone will resist having no tried and true path and will reflexively clamp on to the old options until it is obviously a waste of time.

💯 we are homeschooling our 3 boys in a Charlotte Mason (focus on children as persons, with a holistic view on their schooling) context and I am also exposing them to hard skills (e.g woodworking) along with an appreciation for the arts and literature. No one knows what will be the future but we can at least prepare our children to be good humans
