I’m in the camp where I fear we are so far down the KYC hole (as #[3]​ said) that I don’t fully see how we turn that around unless we have literal revolution and breakdown of democracy in the west to where people physically live some of these scenarios we hope to never truly get to.

Any suggestions on easiest pitch/reason to get the everyday person to care, that doesn’t result in those options above? Even self-custody of ANYTHING in 2023 seems a non-starter for 90%+ of the population.

I think if you’ve clicked “I forgot my password” in the last year, then you the kind of person who probably prefers a custodian.

That’s why I’m encouraged by the fedimint model. We need more decentralized custodian systems.
