America was founded by slave owners that wanted to be free. Not much of a foundation there. That’s just hypocrisy.

Founded on the idea that all men are created equal, which eventually included all of mankind.
It is a very solid foundation.
Don't let the woke cultural Marxist convince you otherwise with their commie equal redistribution of wealth, status and glory from those that work hard and smart to earn it to those that do nothing of merit to earn it.
My belief is that anything that requires taxation is socialist because it involves the redistribution of wealth. And the constitution/declaration of independence establishes a government which must be supported by taxes. So it’s all socialist.
The USA didn't have taxes until 1913. They tried, but all attempts kept getting shot down by the Supreme Court, so the slimeball progressives snuck it into the Constitution using questionable tactics, like late night votes when members were away.
They had tariffs which is a tax
Tarrifs ... do they increase internal wealth by promoting internal commerce amongst citizens, or do they decrease internal wealth by making imported product go up in price?
Being as the USA became the wealthiest nation on the planet under tarrifs, before federal taxes, I'm going to lean towards tariffs creating commerce amongst citizens and offsetting and surpassing the cost of tariffs in imports.
Tariffs are taxes which are theft. Don’t justify theft because you want to hold on to the illusion that this same government brainwashed us to believe in their damn government schools.
I'm fine with tariffs on foreigners competing with American products. Especially considering all foreign countries place tariffs on US imports.
There were many abolitionists amongst the founders. Thev possibility of abolishing slavery is why the Declaration of Independence was changed to say life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness instead of life, liberty and property.
