I agree with you but I can also answer your question -

If you're buying an American made scooter, your plan for dealing with any issues should be to expect service and replacements for defects, baked into the high price you're paying

If you're buying a Chinese made scooter, your plan for dealing with any issues should be to buy 2 scooters and deal with any defects yourself, and that plan is baked into the lower price you'll pay

I like Chinese stuff but this is why some people would call it "slop"

Yes but if you don't buy a 2nd scooter then you have to find parts and stuff

And if a Chinese product has the same kind of quality assurance and customer service as an American product, the price will be similar too

No it won't be similar, because the bulk of the cost is in the manufacturing not the service. Apple produces in China for a reason, ya know, they're not stupid.

Cost isn't price

The market rarely offers customers in the US a Chinese option that takes advantage of cheaper manufacturing there while also offering similar quality assurance, return policies, etc.

This also sets up for tariffs to be really damaging, the Chinese advantage is kinda ruined for Americans with tariffs

No, they're cheaper because you need to buy 2 to get the utility expectation closer to a Toyota

If you buy an iPhone from China in the US you won't have the same quality assurance, return policies, etc. as if you bought at an Apple Store in America unless you pay at least around the price you'd pay at an Apple Store in America

A more Chinese option would be an Apple iPhone bought from a Chinese retailer and shipped from China

The most Chinese option would be a phone that's called an "iPhone" and shipped from China but having nothing to do with the US-headquartered Apple Inc.
