iCloud users must write down a 28-character code for recovery, but taking care of 12 words to self-custody your #bitcoin is too hard 🤨

To be fair, 28 char with an average English word length of 5 char is not even 5 words. A lot less to remember than 12, but I agree to your point 😝

These are not words, it's a string of random letters and numbers that constitute your private key.
