There are few things more frustrating than being stuck in a local optimum and knowing it’s just a local optimum.

what does optimum mean?
It’s a point in space where you reach either the minimum or the maximum you’re looking for (for a mathematical function 🤓). Local means it’s only the best in a subset of the space, and there’s better elsewhere.
