Replying to Avatar bitpunk.fm is typing

It's used in millions of chips. The biggest users are Chinese manufacturers that no longer have to pay Arm. And they make replacement MCUs for ARM parts.

If you look on ali express you would be blown away where it's used.

I saw a usb to uart chip, cheaper than a ftdi, replaced by riscv. This usb to uart even had bluetooth! (It was dnp'd).

I meant more for general compute to customer markets. IIUC it eats everyone’s lunch on performance/efficiency so I’m not surprised it’s heavily used elsewhere. I’ve seen a few dev boards I wanted.

That makes sense. It will be a long time I think before riscv can really compete with x86 or arm in the consumer facing markets.
