Dennis Prager recently wrote a letter to Candace Owens, defending Jews in general and Israel in particular

In it, Prager maintains that Israel is an ally of the United States, but admits that the Israeli attack on the US Naval Intelligence Ship "Liberty" was "probably deliberate" and "criminal".

Instead, Prager says that because Israel invents military technology which the US manufactures for them at US taxpayer expense, they are "one of [the US's] greatest allies in the world". This is akin to claiming that the United States is China's greatest ally, because the United States designed the iPhone for its own benefit.

In the "Zionist media" section, Prager argues that the term "Zionist" means only that "Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish country", glossing over the fact that this is necessarily an apartheid state which favors the Jewish minority over the Arabic majority who follow the other Abrahamic faiths.

In Prager's rhetorical quest to exonerate Jews of every serious crime of which any has ever been accused, he ignores the conviction of Leo Frank while highlighting the acquittal of the accused murders of Eszter Solymosi. In one case the outcome of the legal proceeding is proof of what really happened, in other other it bears no weight at all.

And this is the problem with Prager's letter - it is replete with double standards and motivated reasoning.
