so literally only amethyst can see pics i upload from amethyst - even if i use an external host (e.g. nostr.build) and post that link

Io uso picsur e le mie foto le vedono bene.

Se le carichi da Amethyst non devi usare nip-94 o nip-95, finché anche gli altri client non li supportano.
