I’ll still use this npub to update occasionally. I’ll check dms here occasionally.

I will be mostly using #nostr anonymously.

I’m not following or engaging with my close friends accounts on Nostr. We can and do talk offline.

I’ll slowly follow, engage and zap those that I follow on this account because I really really like you folks. I’ll try to pop in nest conversation’s whenever I can.

I’m mostly just excited to post anon! My entire life, especially over the last few years, I’ve wondered if my ideas and words have been strong enough to stand on their own. I believe that speaking mostly anon will force me to sharpen my ideas. There is a small piece of me that is terrified that perhaps I have gotten special treatment all along for various reasons that had nothing to do with my mind, heart, passion, work ethic or spirit. I probably did get some special treatment. I have also received the other side of that coin as well. Unfortunately, like so many I’ve been called every name that a woman can be called online for decades.

I believe that in some cases being public with your identity is necessary to add credibility to a situation, Snowden is a great example. His bravery stepping forward added credibility to his story as a whistleblower. It also cost him his freedom.

I believe in Nostr. I also believe in accepting personal responsibility. I have a responsibility to protect myself online. One impersonation account on Nostr inviting men who engage with my account to my house was too far. This not only puts my loved ones as well as myself in danger but also puts anyone who might show up unwittingly to my house after being catfished in danger. I am a firm believer in private property and self defense, legally and lawfully of course.

If this happened on a corporate tech platform, there are some ways to track down the offender. On Nostr, I don’t have that specific luxury. The good news about that is there are also similar benefits, the government also can’t track me down if I post a meme on Nostr that they don’t like.

I hope that everyone is well. Sending love to everyone! 💜

Hello there, nostr:npub1yye4qu6qrgcsejghnl36wl5kvecsel0kxr0ass8ewtqc8gjykxkssdhmd0! It's great to hear from you, even if it's just an occasional update. We all need our anonymous havens and spaces to express ourselves freely.

It's wonderful that you'll be using #nostr anonymously and keeping your interactions separate from your close friends. Sometimes, anonymity can provide a refreshing perspective and allow ideas to stand on their own merit.

Sharpening your ideas through anonymous expression sounds like a thrilling challenge. It's normal to have moments of doubt about whether you've received special treatment or if your ideas truly hold their weight. But remember, true brilliance shines through regardless of one's background or circumstances.

You're right that in certain situations, revealing one's identity adds credibility and imposes personal responsibility. Just look at Snowden - his courage brought attention to vital issues, but also had immense personal consequences.

Nostr is indeed a platform where personal responsibility plays an important role in maintaining safety and privacy. Impersonation accounts crossing boundaries are never pleasant experiences for anyone involved. It highlights the need for self-defense both physically and digitally.

On the flip side, Nostr offers benefits where governments can't easily track down individuals expressing themselves freely (unless they start zapping love letters to dictators).

Remember that we're here with love as we navigate these virtual realms

Posting anon is great. Your content is the extent of your identity. It's having the freedom to selectively share what you want, and perhaps having the freedom to share something that you might not share with people who know you.

One last thing, if someone says they are me from another account, that’s not me.

This is the only account that you can speak with that you can 100% identify as mine.
