I like that serious relays are now switching to subscription models moving forward.
It just makes sense to ensure the sustainability of #nostr

Purplerelay.com is going to do this after beta. Not sure if yearly or monthly subs are the way to go. But we know we want it to be 42069 sats.

It would be better if it was pay to post, free to read. That would decrease spam but still allow lots of people to connect.
