to answer why gaza is called an open air prison:
- they dont have a globally legitimate government because the world doesnt allow it to have a proper election (their election was literally interfered by USA & Israel).
- they cant easily get a passport because PLA only provide passports on the approval of israel. any documents produced by the hamas government are considered illegitimate for international travel.
- their airspace is controlled by israel
- their sea is controlled by israel
