I found it hard to understand initially but it’s sort of like this..

Imagine its 1000 sats\byte.. then at 1M sats the fees will be about 250k sats or 25%

So if in the future (10 years) we have a fee environment where the ordinal fee hype is a normality.. let’s say 500sats/vbyte… Bitcoin would be looking as just a settlement layer..

If you want the fees to be only 1% then your utxo should be around 12.5m sats

but then still, there will be ups and downs just like now with ords.. so not by default this will mean the opportunity to settle individually will vanish

just need more utxo management awareness

or am i missing something still?

Honestly I don’t know.. a lot could be done by making batches transactions more efficient.. and exchanges not sending you only 1 utxo and so

From here on I think yes we get opportunities to settle at lower fees..

I just wonder, what if we get 10x the people into bitcoin? I know many will arrive through custodial ln apps.. but 10x the people likely means more than 10x the fees..

I assume 10x the people makes bitcoin more likely to be used even by the current holders which many never use it but just hold

Anyway I think we all should be testing our way by having FAT LN channels with Blixt wallet of Phoenix (no privacy but funds safe)

Better with Blixt for instance, you open a 1-2m channel to LSP.. you can swap out onchain and have liquidity.. :) for good!
