I remember a few times as a kid seeing the sky actually turn green, being told by my parents to head for the cellar, and then later learning that a nearby town had been hit. We’d be out in the back yard and it was so windy you could put your jacket up like a sail, lean into the wind with your whole body weight and not fall over. The best part was when it saved you a whole Sunday’s worth of leaf raking because the wind direction was just right lol
