Wild West is apropos, given the similarities between the Gold Rush of 1849 and the Bitcoin rush to front run hyperbitcoinization.
I don't know that it necessarily shows that there are more scams in Bitcoin per se.
I would say that there are clear incentives for people to operate on NOSTR in ways that are completely self serving. That's less true on other platforms. On X, the X payday algorithm is based on certain engagement stats so in order to win that game, players have to play by those rules.
Here, influencers with large followings reap significant income in the form of zaps and they don't even engage with the people who are zapping them.
For many of the big accounts on NOSTR, their purpose here is entirely about service to the self, not about being of service to others. Perhaps the biggest example of this is the GM trend. What a completely valueless trend. Why anyone would zap a GM post, I don't understand.

I don’t think about zaps ⚡️ in the typical way considering looking at my stats from this & other accounts. What is a significant income to one is location dependent now. But I digress.

Must be my sigma personality shining through. Sigmas find pleasantries and small talk to be as horrifying as ceremonious obligations like formal attire.
In my experience, I do not need a conscious being to say “GM” or “Good morning” to me in order for me to acknowledge their existence. There are so many ways that a person can broadcast their existence to the world. Doing so daily by reiterating the same, tired, 2 letter post is honestly lazy and completely devoid of creativity.
I would rather see an amusing thought or anecdote or a thought provoking statement than a GM. In my eyes, GM posts are nothing more than normalized narcissism by people who have nothing to say and are fishing for attention.

Outside of our own personalities … people use Nostr in various capacities. Whilst IRL I feel the same … esprit de corps is a thing. Blame it on my retired Army self but ima ok with it. 🤣🫂🕊️

We live in a scam world, why should it be any different with Bitcoin!?! I think it will take decades until we have a Bitcoin standard, maybe that could then change the world so that there are less scams in this world

Unless a stable and standardized policy is proven, Bitcoin can be challenged in the currency markets. Until then, it remains a volatile and speculative “asset”.
