It’s colder, so Antminer S9 is turned on more often recently. But I feel it really lowers air humidity. Let’s try old grandma methods - put some water close to heat source. #BitcoinMining #HomeMining #HobbyMining #MineForHeat

Any heat source will cook the moisture out of your house. My gas furnace does this too. I have been thinking of finding an S9 for use as a space heater, never played with miners before.

if winter electricity rates are reasonable it can really help stack sats and stay warm

In my case - I have central heating, but it’s not enough, sometimes it’s +17/+18 in a living room. So, need to use some extra electric heating anyway. Why not use #Bitcoin miner instead of ordinary electric heater, at least I get some sats back from electricity spent. Ok, there is downside - noise, as for some reason only one of replacement more quiet fans work. Plan is to figure this out at some point, but haven’t get to it, always other stuff to do.

noise can be easily overcome for 2 or 3 rigs

To be clear, any mechanism of warming air that isn't also adding water to the air will lower air humidity. Just basic physics.
