Is receiving lightning payouts from OCEAN going to be the only reason for running the CLN node?

If so, it's probably not worth bothering.

The only reason I did so was because I was already running an LND node that I could open a channel to my new CLN node to have instant inbound liquidity, and I didn't know about any other options at the time.

My suggestion would instead be to use Coinos.io to get a BOLT-12 offer set up to receive your payouts from OCEAN. You can even set up an automatic withdrawal from Coinos to whatever you use for your main lightning wallet whenever the balance reaches a certain threshold. For the amounts you will most likely be receiving as payouts, there is very little concern with having it with a custodian until it reaches your threshold, and you can set that threshold as low as you like. I have mine at 2000 sats, for instance.

Thanks, giving coinos a shot but doesn’t seem to be working. When setting up the offer do you leave the offer amount at zero or do you hit the “prompt for amount” button ?

I would expect you keep it at 0, but I haven't used nostr:nprofile1qqst4qyeqenw7zm0fwjsty68h6cnys5jre2xd8ngqpjv5a2j26s78fspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucm0d9hx7uewd9hj75a0pev for this setup personally. Either they or someone else who has used them may know.

Keep it at 0 but you need to use the "Set memo" button to put in the message that O ean gives you

Thanks, turns out it was already setup correctly and I’m just impatient
