It blows my mind that companies actually PLAN obsolescence. It is a total betrayal of the relationship between business and customer.

I work so hard and for so long to make the best products that I can. That's literally the bulk of my focus. I would be ashamed if something that I sold failed, even if it was after a few years of use.

To actually plan for it?
