Why it should never happens in arch? I’m very new arch user, so I’m interested.
I read when kernel panic happen, then the boot loader don’t get the right informations. For example, your boot partition didn’t mount right. (After a update maybe?) Why can’t this happen under arch?

If you want something more stable probably Debian is a better choice, but Arch has a pretty good documentation and an active community to help you if something went wrong with the OS...
