My oldest told me yesterday that it makes her sad that I play with her little sister more.

I reflected on this and it might be true. My oldest likes to be in control (like me 😬) so I definitely shy from playing with her. Or rather she stops playing with me because I don’t follow her rules. Same same.

I need to change that and just submit while playing to build a better relationship. I can be a parent, while still giving over control while we play.

I won't pretend to know how to parent, but out of curiosity, have you communicated this to her? It sounds like a good lesson in teaching people to communicate and come to mutual understanding and resolve it together through communicating an agreement rather than an exercise in conformity based on commands from other people's desires.

Again, I'm just a nerd on the internet and I don't know what I'm talking about, but if you do try that, let me know what happens XD

Good point! I should talk to her about it. Still need to conform to build the relationship since that’s most important to me. But be very explicit about when my obedience can be expected. And vice versa.
