For nearly all of human history, we called UBI 'slavery', and slavery only worked because the slaves were minimally taken care of. Fake monopoly money falls into the category of "taking care of the slaves", but shitty monopoly money puts all the onus on the slave owners to justify their value, an impossible justification in today's economy by typical human standards.
