projects do not last long term without a funding model.

just saying if "the community" wants it it will happen is hand-waving.

Monero is a pretty long term project, don't you think.

SimpleX chose a state licenced company model, which shows they have no clue about the world is currently run. They even took money from Gates, Bezos and Zuckerberg. Now they fear compliance risks by integrating Monero. They were contributing to their downfall the minute they took VC money despite the community giving signals that this could be funded directly.

SimpleX can be run on your own server, we need some devs to maintain the code which could be easily funded like Monero.

Time to fork it and encourage people to run independent servers.

No one really wanted SimpleX to have all the server costs, but SimpleX wanted to stay in control as much as possible. This works only for so long.
