That would be a version of a victory but not the only version. The image you see here means mass surveillance of your BTC via KYC, your BTC being taxed, and your BTC being confiscated if they so choose. That isn't what BTC was supposed to be. But this is what BTC is today.
If suits get involved, they could have got involved as a libertarian, post dollar governance, or even not getting involved at all would be better than this.
I just don't see why you and others are upset about this. Bitcoin is a tool, as long as nobody can manipulate it then its doing its job. You can't control how its going to be used. If a state/gov wants it to be used a certain way then that is their choice. You can take your Bitcoin and go somewhere else if necessary. Again, what did you expect was going to happen? Its naive to think that everyone would just automatically become libertarian when adopting Bitcoin.
It's not much different to a CBDC at this point.
