That's a legacy format, deprecated now. It's the most successful deprecation we've had on nostr so far. So the fact that some clients still publish it is evidence that maybe deprecations on nostr are actually impossible.
there's deprecated and then there's no longer valid, you don't remove support for deprecated until it's no longer valid
