This is why I'm getting out of the credit system altogether (inasmuch as it's feasible at any given time, and yeah it's an uphill battle but I think it's necessary as well).

The data thieves want this data to open lines of credit in our names, parasitizing off of our hard earned credit history and credit scores. But that doesn't work if we don't have credit because we don't need it. We can only do so much about what's already out there, but we can make ourselves harder targets going forward. Bitcoin makes this possible.
