1) To be fair, in bull runs its mostly hype, but the hype is justified. A real innovation (or discovery, however you want to see it) of a decentralized monetary system.
2) its not just thin air, proof of work connects it with the real world and gives it some kind of value
3) its is real, because again of proof of work and the ability to verify every block on your own.
4) its not just dark web stuff, nations use it and some countries are teaching it in school
5) it is not a scam because there is no single person or group of people who could control bitcoin
