On the left is our old rectory fire tube boiler, installed c. 1967. On the right is the new high efficiency condensing boiler, with all the improvements that accompanied it, including asbestos abatement.

Thank God for tradesmen who know what they're doing and care about their craftsmanship. These guys are good dudes, albeit rough around the edges. But they want to know how to do things and do them well.

I, for one, appreciate them.

Young men, take note. Such competence is not a bad way to make a living, even today.

not only are tradesman talented and valuable but these days they're in a position of scarcity and able to name their own price.

It's rather ironic that many of them aren't interested in bitcoin. If btc was to take hold in their markets I can see a rapid expansion of use given the "rough around the edges" typically includes a distrust for the political apparatus.

Mining would be the way to get them interested. I need to learn this first so I can lure them in with weird side projects that pique their interest
