Saw a post on the bird app criticizing people for having opinions about big age differences in relationships. I’m curious to know what other people think is an acceptable age range for dating?

Personally I never dated anyone younger than myself until this year, less than a 4 year difference. I’m primarily getting hit on by young ones these days. I’m talking like as big as an 18 year age difference. Which leaves me thinking sweet child you are lost. I don’t want to date anyone who hasn’t had a chance for their frontal lobe to fully form.

I totally lost respect for a man I had previously admired when I found out he would have dated me when I was 17. He’s 21 years older than me. Now I’m older I wouldn’t rule someone out for that age difference alone. Though we probably would just be in different life stages. I do try to keep it closer to my age than my parents age.

Less than 10 yrs age gap should be fine, in my humble opinion.

I’m at an age where 10 years younger than me is very different than 10 years older. I also know men my age that routinely date 10 years younger.

In the case I'm making, man and woman should be at least 21 yrs old and show signs of maturity.

Women should never date younger, if you do it needs to be only a few years (like 2 max).

We mature much faster than men.

Men can date significantly younger, though 40 & 17 is just wrong.
