Depends on what you're referring to specifically from Umbrel. In my case I assembled the hardware, installed Debian, and deployed applications (primarily as containers). Umbrel Home does all that for you. UmbrelOS requires you to acquire the hardware but handles all the software for you.

UmbrelOS has an app store similar to your phone making things very simple.
