It's rather ridiculous that almost every online service available today has largely been co-opted by intelligence agencies and governments in order to spy on us.
Got to go FOSS and self-host, but it's a lot of work to maintain that.

Self hosting has a huge overhead and complexity for users, plus potentially a not insignificant upfront cost if you want to do things properly.
And raspi with a usb hard drive is not really the solution for everything:)
