You can get a driver's license at 16 but you have to be 18 to get an Uber account. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nothing. Makes. Sense.

Is that right? So dumb…

It’s got to be a liability insurance reason regarding minors. I’ve put my kids in Ubers alone before and it’s kind of scary to trust them to a complete stranger in a car even for 10 minutes.

Can unbehead your kids ya know.

I think they have a Teen Uber thing now?

I mean, makes sense that legally-defined minors have different systems applied to them by centralized platforms...

When I looked into it, it said available in select cities with parental authorization.

Well yeah, I personally don't think that 16 year olds should be driving Ubers.

Just sounds like a stupid way to increase the death toll on roads

Until you are an adult (18), you cannot enter binding contracts. Void!

So why are 16 year olds prompted to sign a contract with their Department of Motor Vehicles?

Worse, why is there a clause coercing the minor to consent to possible military enlistment in a document about permission to drive a car? Duress!
