Yeah, groups is the killer feature many people installed telegram. Nostr adds easy IP obfuscation and no phone number requirement.

For 1on1 I just use whatsapp or sms cause that's where the people are.

For 1on1, yeah. But for groups, it's trends. Users show up and lave in huge waves sometimes.
