Today, if someone says they tried Nostr but it's not live, there's not enough interesting content or people there, it's just sort of an echo chamber of the bitcoin community, and that's why he’s going back to Twitter, which will allow him to increase his reach, it's like in 2010 he said he'd try bitcoin but hardly anyone uses it, it can't buy anything but pizza and the community around him is full of cyberpunks so he'd rather keep saving in dollars to protect himself from inflation...

All the criticism is true but still Nostr became my only Social Network I use. #Facebook is #adstr and #scamstr, #linkedin is boring and #instagram is for OF girls, so I haven’t really use it anyway.

I use Facebook for communities. There's a lot of homeschoolers building things and for hobbies and finding that it's pretty great. Insta is a doomscrolling braincancer, I have it only to pair pics with Facebook and control that, don't use it per se. LinkedIn is fake af, full of desperate go-getters😵‍💫 And I forgot my password for Twitter.😀 What's super stale is Mastodon, that thing of "don't you dare to drag Twitter shite here" got old quickly.

I very much prefer interaction with living people 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely yes. But the Rockopera academy works and shares exclusively via Facebook group and since I'm around music, I need reach. Other than that, fck socmedia.

I like this little echochamber as is.

On twitter (for example) there is so many people that most interactions become meaningless. Like talking to someone for 1 minute on a busy square because you just accidentally bumped into each other. With a possibility that random bystanders and their dogs will bark at you for accidentally (mis)hearing of what you said. No one will read longer text, very few know the context.

It's great if you like virtual brawls and "someone is wrong on the internet spirals".

It's also great for news and quick (macro) takes. And that's why I capitulated and created an account after the Nitter demise. Even Lyn Alden doesn't post most of her macro stuff here 🥲. And I couldn't find a substitute for that.

Nostr rn feels like a semi-illegal "bitcoiner bar" in a city center, just around a narrow street corner in the bad (but cool) barrio.

It will evolve, as will the big socmedia suffer the incomming regulations that will turn them into an equivalent of todays tv/radio/print media.

...the spirit of the old good underground... 😎
