I have been learning and building Linux, SYS-admin work, AI and general networking for some months now.

Seeing how disconnected my friends and family are from technology worries me.

My parents and grandparents struggle to open and navigate websites and apps, understand things like QR codes and AI, and just generally avoid technology whenever they can.

My friends struggle with not giving Amazon, google and Microsoft every piece of telemetry and choose convenience over self sovereignty at every opportunity.

The more I learn, the more I am worried that people aren’t more aware of how much control and abuse goes on in technology, and the disconnect will only get worse and worse.

What do you expect? And it's not age as many of you like to think. Your generation is not awake or smarter. 99% will still be uninterested fucking idiots like it was 50 years ago. Most people are not curious to understand how things work, they just want an easy product.

Why do you think they trick people with this new tech, because the majority cannot even change a lightbulb. It's not going to change. Sorry this world is a solitary one for smart people. The more you grow the less people will tolerate your presence.
