Read a post here I can’t find anymore about how hard it was for someone to extricate himself from the BCH cult. Even four years later, he was still struggling with it.
And I started thinking it’s the same for the neoliberal (Orange man=apocalypse/Jan 6 = 9/11/get boosted!) one.
It’s not a matter of logic, evidence or any kind of persuasion. They have to hit rock bottom. It’s going to be ugly when the scam unravels completely.
I also wonder what cults I’m unwittingly buying into. I question the BTC narrative virtually every day, double and triple check, look out for cult-like signs.
The Saylor speech in Madeira was bad. It was not his usual building the case from first principles, but a rah rah, let’s all embrace the banks and everything else. It creeped me out.
Overall you can never be sure because if you were in a cult, by definition, you would be the last to know it.
I try to build my case from first principles. With diet, I try to eat unprocessed foods as humans evolved to eat. I try to get sun as you look and feel healthy with a tan, and humans have always been exposed to it. I opt for sound money over unsound.
But as a fallible person, you never really know.
