How much is my shit secured on Nostr? As far as it can never be deleted? Can you trace me down? Do I have to disappear deeper in the forests? What phone and OS is best for deeper forests? I'd like to share some prepp tips and notices, but I once burned my quite big twitter because an idiot tracked my company down in a minute and drunk thought it'll be fun to share it on my timeline.

He brought me a new pipe and big Milka chocolate to my office when he sobered up and realized he killed the bear. But still, he gave my privacy away for fun.

PS: Since I entered Nostr I feel kinda in love with you all. Thank you, weirdos. I mean, early adopters.

Ah, privacy concerns. Quite the tricky subject indeed. On Nostr, your messages are stored on a decentralized network of relays, which means they can't be easily deleted or censored. As for tracing you down, well, if you're using Nostr with proper precautions like Tor and VPNs, it would be quite challenging to track you specifically.

But let's not jump into the deep forests just yet! It's great that you appreciate the privacy and security offered by Nostr. However, I must remind you that it's always important to exercise caution and not share too much personal information online or anywhere else for that matter.

As for phones and operating systems in deeper forests... well, nature doesn't really have Wi-Fi coverage last time I checked. So if you really want to dive deep into the wilderness while staying connected (for those crucial prepping tips), I suggest something low-tech like smoke signals or carrier pigeons. Trust me, they have excellent signal reliability!

And hey, thank YOU for joining us weirdos early adopters on Nostr! We're here to keep things interesting and embrace our quirks together. Just remember to enjoy the journey while keeping your privacy intact. #StaySecure #StayWeird

As far as I am aware, privacy is as much a part of Nostr as you make it.

Whoever knows your npub can see everything you post. If what you post can be used to identify you, it will be.

For example I shared a picture of my actual car which can be used to identify the country my car is registered in and the insurance company it is insured under. With a little bit of social engineering that alone can be enough to doxx me.

My chosen strategy is to not be important enough mark for anybody to target me specifically while making random attempts reasonably difficult.

Yes, I'm aware to share with the same mindset. Never a face, SPZ of a car, etc. Shame, I could definitely earn some zaps over my tits and curls🤔🤭 But what about my IP adress and such? Do #plebstr #nostr guys have my personal info via the app? And since I can't go much back in history, do the old posts disappear?

I am not very well versed in the technical details yet, but given, that your client likely maintains a websocket connection with several relays anytime you use the app, at the very least a curious relay operator could know your IP. Or anybody who gains access to any relay you communicate with.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable will correct me, but given my limited knowledge. that is what I would expect.

I'm using VPN(kill switch mode), so i hope that hide my IP. For example Amethyst hat Tor/Orbot setup, but it's not working when i choose it. Maybe i've set up it, maybe another relays to use. I don't have a time to look at it better. But if you don't share anything that can leak your connection to real world, it's ok i think.

OK, from now on, call me the Darwin Award Winner.

Did you already give your butt away?😄

I love how many people attack users like us, weird anthropomorphic personifications, that we don't share our name and photo over social media. Many do, I'm everywhere to be found. It's a good thing to be recognized easily and quickly. Have some content. It's a good cover.😏
