I don’t like the term “freedom tech”
All tech should be freeing, therefore “freedom” is redundant.
Just “tech”
The other non-freeing tech can be called evil tech for all I care.
all techs should be neutral imho, is atomic bomb evil tech?

Agree but the way some is implemented is pure evil.
it's the people who implemented the tech that are evil, and innocent people tend to become evil under the circumstances where techs are used for evil purposes
