I’ve been zapped $20 this last week posting less than 10 tweets.
I have less than 4000 followers on Nostr and 1m followers on Twitter, that’s 250x less followers.
$20 x 250 = $5000 for 10 tweets.
Nostr has potential to be the next content creation platform that will pay better than YouTube.

In your profile you need to add a "lud6 or lud16" address. The format looks like a email address. The easiest way is a service like #[4] . When you install it gives you a address. There are other services for lud16 addr but you also need to make sure the service supports nip57. Basically your nostr client when you zap someone goes to the server specified and checks if it has a field named allownostr = true. If so it talks to the server and gets a fresh lightning invoice.

True! It will all work out nicely as long as the relays can afford their existence. In the long term, there has to be a way for the relays to systematically receive a piece of the revenue that big content creators potentially generate.

I was thinking the same thing. Granted all 1M won’t be bots but I suspect 5-10% (maybe even as high as 15%) of anyone’s large following are bots.

I def think today people who use nostr are more tech savvy and likely to make these donations. Would be interested if this persists and scales.
That said, nostr is much most crypto native, so it might be built into the culture.
