Oh damn I think I worked it out? I stopped trying to think about symbolism and instead imagined myself standing on a spaceship looking at this thing and how I would feel in that situation. I wrote down all the feelings and then followed the one that felt the strongest... and now I know what the poem's about! 😃 Wild!
