Lohagad Fort, located in Maharashtra, India, is a hill fortress that dates back over 2,000 years, with its origins traced to the Satavahana period around the 1st to 2nd century BC.

Standing at 1,033 meters (3,389 feet), it served as a strategic stronghold for multiple dynasties and later played a significant role under Chhatrapati Shivaji in the 17th century.

The fort features massive stone walls, fortified gateways, and water cisterns, with its most distinctive feature, the Vinchu Kata, resembling a scorpion’s tail.
