Someone commented that they were disappointed the Taylor Swift deepfakes aren't making rounds on nostr since it's a good test of censorship resistance. Challenge accepted!

Note that I'm marking these images as "sensitive" so your client ought to blur them by default. I'm also spreading the files across multiple hosts for redundancy.

Personally, I find it ridiculous that these particular deepfakes are what caused an uproar, because they're simply not believable due to the crowds in the background. When I was searching for Swift deepfakes I came across MANY older images that are far more realistic. But it just goes to show that you never know what will go viral.

This note does not have a content warning. Guess it makes it an even better test of clients' moderation features! Quick everyone, mute nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp so his WoT score goes below zero.

Just kidding, but it does pose an interesting scenario: what if someone with high trust loses their mind? How quickly could they organically be demoted from people's feeds?

Right, I flagged the images as sensitive rather than the note. Sounds like there's a mismatch in expectations.

I suspect from what we've seen happen on other social networks, followers are incredibly sticky and even if someone goes insane, they won't meaningfully lose much of the attention directed toward them.

Hi, I am among the unfortunate victims of the FTX scam, a situation that has resulted in the loss of my entire savings, totaling around $20,000.

The distressing aspect of this ordeal is not just the financial loss but the subsequent actions taken by SBF and Sullivan & Cromwell, the involved debtors. Following the success of their global heist, it appears that, rather than working towards justice for the affected customers, they are prioritizing their own interests, demonstrating a complete disregard for the well-being of those who have suffered.

To witness such blatant exploitation of innocent people for personal gain is not only disheartening but also raises concerns about the moral and ethical compass of those involved. Their actions can only be described as mentally and spiritually sick, going beyond mere financial misconduct.

The significance of this situation cannot be overstated for me, as the funds lost were an integral part of my financial stability. I am reaching out to you with the hope that you might consider extending a helping hand during this challenging time. Any assistance or guidance you could provide to navigate through the complexities of this situation would be immensely appreciated.

I believe in the power of collective compassion and the willingness of individuals to make a difference in the lives of those facing adversity. I understand that you may have your own commitments and limitations, but even the smallest gesture can have a meaningful impact.

Thank you for taking the time to read my plea, and I sincerely hope that you may find it in your heart to offer assistance during this trying period. Your kindness will not be forgotten, and I am immensely grateful for any support you can provide.

if only u attached a lightning address

What client is this? I don't know what it means to flag images, there's nothing in the event itself, and I see you're using multiple image hosts.

Lol, Damus blurred this image, but not yours.

It blurs if you don’t follow them 😅 a bit more reliable than hoping the user tags things correctly. Usually people won’t if they are posting shock images maliciously.

Checkout my imagination of WOT user experience:

… in your scenario “mute” wd act as a “trustworthy down vote”, wherein if enough of your followers “muted jameson” then he MAY cease to be marked as “trustworthy” (for you) and you MAY be notified (depending on your WOT filter settings) of this change.

IMHO, “WOT filter” needs to be its own NIP, to provide a protocol for other NIP filters and a definition for consistent client UX.

Thoughts?

I don't think WoT needs a NIP, this is something clients can do differently without hurting interoperability.
