All pirate ships had their own codes set by the captain and violation of it would often be punished by death.
Almost every single pirate code said that rape is strictly forbidden.
So in reality pirates weren't especially rapey. I'm sure some did if they thought they can get away with it, but it wasn't something pirates did *because* they were pirates.
Sorry for writing you a red talk on pirate rape I'm really high. It is true what I said though looks it up it's kinda fascinating 😅
