Right?! Relays used to be an obsession. Now people just seem to be obsessed with shitposting or whatever.

Clients are in a very competetive landscape for users that can switch at will. Seems like making the most twittertok-y experience has taken the forefront. Which, i blame no one but us users for gravitating towards that familiar fluff.
Honestly, I never used Twitter or IG or any of that. Nostr is the first time I ever actively used social media except for some YouTube channels that I follow. Took me a long time to get used to this.
Need to be blunt about this, but what I have observed is how unstable and addicted some people have become, especially when it comes to attention gathering. It's very hard to have a casual disagreement with someone on social media. Quite a few people muted or blocked me or insulted me just because I disagreed with them on the most trvival of matters. Makes me wonder what kind of person I would've grown up to be if I had actively used it from a young age.
I have a 20 year old brother in law, it does bleed into his life way too much as he grew up in a pretty household where he wasnt supervised and used all the social medias unimhibited from a young age ...it definitely asversely affects his social interactions...interacting with people in real life in a trolly way one might do online and all. Its all hes known 😔
Tbh, I'm sorry to hear that. I've observed the same kind of behavior amongst plenty of people around my age (32) and your brother in law's age. Alot of people's behavior seems to revolve around hypercompetitiveness nowadays. If I don't give them enough attention they take it as insult. You should see this kind of behavior at the gym. "Gymbros" are the worst with this.
Honestly, it's quite unsurprising to see the rate of anxiety and other kinds of mental disorders skyrocket among this newest generation.
