Consumers on Lightning will be incentivized to behave cooperatively. They will be rated as node owners by things like 1) Uptime; 2) Sending Liquidity; 3) Fees; and maybe even the growth of the producers who they have channels with.

Consumers will be trained to behave in a way that demonstrates cooperation in the Lightning ecosystem because they want to be part of the cooperative structures that enable the value trade.

These structures will be Bitcoin’s version of “The Club”. It’s not who you know - it’s how much Bitcoin you want to commit and how much you want to cooperate.
