Worked out why that didn't work (read the Bitcoin Manual a bit better in other words). Found a script for it instead here: https://github.com/SamSamskies/nostr-zap

You can see it working now on https://music.strangetextures.com/everyoneelsewhereplayer.html

Very lazy way to go on though - I'm just using the embed code and putting a wrapper round. Means it would work if you self-host with Faircamp - or use Bandcamp or Mirlo etc embed codes. Moving on to a better idea next....

Will take a read when I get time, work kicking my arse this week!

Take care - also, kick it back!

When you do get chance/energy for a read, the upshot is if you want to self host, the music side project feed maker is the least faff and gives you something like this: https://podcastindex.org/podcast/7438955

More faff but potentially better result is to edit a Faircamp output so you get lightning payments on the page, in the player, and on the download page like this: https://music.strangetextures.com/anobservedearth/ I can write up how to do it if anyone wants (also easy to steal out of that example if you view source - just 3 things to copy over I think, but will write it up).

Best way one day will be to run your own relay and blossom server with an upload client that reads metadata, uploads the file to your blossom server (and mirror), lets you add more meta data, and generates the rss feed from that (and uploads that if you want it).

Then we get a music client that uses the meta data to generate a user library that can be shared, playlists curated and shared, and connect through to other people's libraries/catalogues. Include streaming and download versions etc and you get a proper decentralised music system (would work for other media too).

Of course, someone would need to build it. But one day, one day...
