If you're already running your own nodes, shouldn't it be relatively easy to set up an lnaddress? Before my nodes died, I recall there was something available in either umbrel or mynode. Not sure what software everyone is using.

I could be totally wrong abt all that but i do know lnaddress is way easier for most ppl to comprehend and implement if there's an easy way to get one. Getting the OGs to update is less of a lift vs what could be millions of users if we keep pushing this rock up the hill.

most of us node runners would probably just us our getalby addresses because were already running AlbyHub and BTCpay server or LNBits is a pain in the ass to run because Start9 is behind TOR. Plus we like Alby :)

Changing the feeds is up to each podcaster to decide but for me if the other PC 2.0 devs cant easily add lnaddress support I'll never be onboard. These devs have been here the whole time and most do this for fun on the side and it they get left behind I'm out.

We chose keysend years ago because you can just sent payments to it and the server load is less.

PodcastGuru is working on it and I've seen demos of Castamatic so i guess were getting there but they are still using AlbyHub wallets that most listeners and podcasters say is too hard to set up.

We really need a wallet thats as easy for devs to use as the old Alby. Without the apps this all falls apart

Agree that we absolutely need the current devs on board and 100% without the apps this all falls apart. I wish I had a better understanding of the roadblocks on the dev side. I do know bolt12 works similar to keysend and seems to have more wallet support. Specifically coinos which is extremely easy to set up for first timers (supports lnurl and bolt12).

Would any of the existing pc2.0 devs who cannot implement lnaddress into their current project want to work with us to create a new player that does? Tech moves fast and if anyone feels stuck maybe this is a way forward?

I think most of the app devs so this for the love of the game and barely have time to work on there apps. These apps have been around for years are are great. I think the issue is no one knows where to start and its a very small part of PC 2.0 so doesn't get that much attention now so its up to us podcasters/listeners that got orange pilled to help the devs out.

there is a podcastindex mastodon that I can send you an invite to. Its were most people can be reached at. It bridges to Nostr but thats shit show tbh.

All the apps currently use ZBD or Alby in some way that both do lnaddress and keysend so this has all been behind the scenes for years until Alby changed their business model and no longer has the free option for people.

People have been saying we need any Alby alternative for years and here we are a year after the AlbyHub rollout and its completely dead.

We need wallets that anyone can build on. Podcastindex is all open and free so people can build whatever they want with it.

Yeah the bridges are always a bit wonky. I've never used Mastodon before but I'd like to get plugged in with more of the community. I think with the normie artist reach we have, we can orange pill a lot of artists. And with them come fans. But we need a fully demu wavlake killer type app. Not hating on WL at all, but tech has progressed and we need the next gen of great UI and UX PC2.0 apps. And part of it is hype and marketing. Us early adopters are in, but to keep this going we need to reach more people!
