How is nostr any different if that’s what you care about?
Sorry, I don't really understand what you mean, for all social things I like Nostr, for communicating with normie family and friends, I'd rather just use messaging then connect with them on traditional social media.

of my fam, i'm the only nostr user(soon 1 poss. 2 more) but 4 messaging this is harder 4me 2 stay in touch
Yeah, a lot of people would never join Nostr or would ever want to, but I also hate traditional social media for many reasons. Which is why for communicating with them I like just a messaging app like signal or just texting/calling.
